I'm hoping I can finish our summer vacation posts in this post. There are really only two more major events to talk about. Robert and I took two trips this summer without the kids! We left them at Grandma and Grandpa's house and went back to Tucson for a friend's wedding and then took a trip to Vegas! It was so nice to have time to remember why we love each other and have some time away. The wedding was the last weekend in June, and I only have one picture of Robert and I from that. This was taken before we left for the ceremony.
The nice thing was the wedding was for one of our friends from high school and it was kind of like a mini reunion for me. I saw a lot of people that I haven't seen since high school and it was nice to catch up.
We got back into Kansas City, just in time to spend the 4th of July with my family. The sad thing is I don't have any of the pictures from the 4th. They were all taken with my Mom's camera and I still have to get them from her, but I can tell you it was FUN!
Then we took the kids and my sister back here to Oklahoma for a few days and then sent the kids back to my parent's for about another month. It was very interesting to be without them for so long, but I think we all had a good time.
When we went back to my family it was time for us to fly out to Vegas. We did go one day early to spend a day with the kids before we took off, but other than that we went straight to Vegas.
Vegas was a BLAST!!! We spent just over a week there and still didn't see everything, but were definitely ready to come home. It's one of those places that I couldn't stand for too long. So I guess pictures would be great. Here are a few, jsut so you know...I have well over 100 pictures from our trip, so this is only a select few, or it would take me forver to finish.
This is Lake Mead on our way to Hoover Dam.
This is Hoover Dam.
This is the start of the bypass they are building at this time.
And Lake Mead behind the dam.
Okay, this is the view of the strip from our hotel room during the day.
And at night,
This is Excalibur, we stayed here our last night in Vegas. Robert and I also went and saw the Tornament of Kings show here one of the nights we were there. It was fun.
This is the Sphinx and Luxor.
This is the strip as seen from the VooDoo lounge on the 51st floor of the Rio. We went to a party there one night.
And of course that night we had good company.
The last day we spent doing a lot of sightseeing. This is the new dolphin calf they had in June at the Mirage. Isn't he cute?!
These two are from the Secret Garden, also in the Mirage.
Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay.
And just before we headed out to the Airport, we went to see the Stratosphere. Here's one picture I got of that.
So, that's our summer vacation. I hope to be a little more regular with posting now that school is back in session.
